Friday Five - Lifted

Today's Friday Five invites us to share things that lift us up. My picture today is from the movie Up! Great movie! If you haven't seen it, I highly recommend it! It'll lift you up too!

A Scripture: Numbers 6:24-26 - "May the Lord bless you and keep you. May the Lord make His face to shine upon you and be gracious unto you. May the Lord lift up his countenance upon you and give you peace." This has been a long-time favorite. Yesterday I received this blessing from a local Rabbi in Hebrew, which was just an amazing experience.

A Piece of Music: Chris Rice generally does it for me. My go-to piece is usually "Smell the Color 9," but I also love "Hallelujahs"

A Place: Being at Camp Sumatanga is always good for my soul. I think the next best thing is being at home in my bed with my dogs and my hubby!

A Person/Group of People: Two people that can always lift me up are my husband and my brother. Both are able to make me laugh and will always be there for me, no matter what.

Something You Do: Working on crafts is always a great way to lift myself up. Anything where I can be creative and explore new things and find new ways of expressing myself is uplifting.

Do any of these things do it for you?

  3. I enjoyed reading how your brother can cheer you up, as it made me think of my oldest son, who is cheery like that to others.

  4. I love that blessings as well. It is my "default" benediction and nursing home blessing when nothing else comes to mind. How amazing to have received it in Hebrew!

  5. Up made me cry! Such a beautiful movie.

I'm also a huge fan of Numbers 6:24-26. It was reworked into song called "Old Irish Blessing" that we played at church as a kid, and it's one of the most loving songs... :)
